Balistic
Any Balistic 5.5M owners on here or others that have experience of them? viewed one yesterday and just liked the style and think the layout will suit my intended use but know nothing about them and a quick scan of forum but hasn't revealed much. Would also be interested in any feedback regarding JBT marine they seem a good bunch?

we very nearly went for a Balistic before we found the Revenger at a too good a price to walk away from, JBT have been round for a long time, which always bodes well, and the ribs look great and well built, as long as its been looked after you won't go far wrong but I guess someone will have tales of woe as always happens when I say good things

As Ribnet's resident teller of tales of woe....
No, actually. JBT have been really helpful and I've had to ring/visit them quite a few times during my refurb project.
Given that they've barely made anything from me and I've probably been a right royal pain in the proverbials with constant questions and rummaging in their spare parts, their customer service is definitely a plus.
I can't comment on the 5.5m though-never been in one.

my brother has one and loves it, he is a family man and loves to wake board and tow his wife on skis and two children on ringos etc.
Only down side for me is that the tubes are PVC.
In short, a nice boat

Are they? Mine definitely aren't. It's hypalon.
Is that a 5.5m thing only?

Don't know, but if his is hypalon i'd be very surprised.
Somebody out there will know.
Sorry in advance if I am wrong, but I don't think I am.

I love my 6.5, but the 6.5 & 7.? are the same I believe - same hull style I heard, so the 5.5 hasn't got the reverse scallop. I guess same tubes as well on the 6 & 7 as my are hypalon as well!

No I can't be sure, but my brothers have worn badly and look to me, a 6 x rib man (all of which have been hypalon), that his are not hypalon.
But as I have said I could be wrong, it has happened before...

Hi, We have three Ballistic 5.5m Ribs on the Dry Stack. One has a 75hp E-Tec, one has a 90hp E-tec and one has a 115hp E-tec. Having driven all three I think they are great little boats and perfect for The Solent. The 115 can be a bit of a handfull!!!! I believe the 5.5's were not hypalon tubes but the others in the range are.
By the way, just sold one for £12,500 details here Ballistic 5.5m RIB For Sale

Id never heard it either until I started to look into the Ballistic range, some people / testers use this phrase to describe the shape of the hull and the chines.
