Well, lesson for the day is...
Don't buy screws because they 'look the right size' without taking the old ones as a comparison.
I'm going to have a LOT of 316SS fasteners left after this. What I thought was the right size for screwing the seat bases to the hinges turned out to be too long.
Stuck again waiting for fasteners. Not being able to nip across town to a chandlers is a pain.

Thanks Peter To be fair on them, Force 4 and most of the other chandlers are pretty good with postage.
Things usually arrives next working day, but it's such a pain in the neck having to down tools and return to a half finished job rather than ticking it off and moving on.
Stuck waiting for the postie at the moment...

Probably not-it might be ready but it'll be untested and I'm not going RTI in an untested boat.

No not like that you put the long screw part way in with point then remove & put the cut down one in! but if you have loads to do it could be a pain!

Only Screwfix, and their stocks are pretty limited and mostly industrial grade unpolished. Their stocks of 316 are almost nonexistent.
All our local ones have to order them in and it's quicker and cheaper to get the same thing on ebay by the time they've done it.

If it was one or two I might have been tempted, but there's nearly 50 of them.

If anyone round this way wants a load of bird sand, I've got about 23kg of a 25kg sack here.
Sixy came in the other day and said she really likes fake teak so I'm not going to non slip my deck, just stick some self adhesive treadmaster patches down where they're needed for the summer.. My mrs is wonderful!
Fuel gauge is now fitted and working correctly. Just waiting for the epoxy filler I put in the old transducer mount holes to go off properly then I can flowcoat it and polish so it's invisible and fit the transducers.

I'm not sure. wilFiSh says it's an annti-nobbur myne, but I reckon he's growing spuds under the boat and trying for puccine.

You were taught to say that by a native! It took me a minute or three.
Initially I thought it was antipasta, then I said it out loud...

lol - if it was the quare stuff, it probably said "Smirnoff" or "Gordon's Gin" as they tend not to be well supplied with custom labels and glassware.
That's the correct spelling, but us culchies pronounce it pooch-een

I think he would be better off cleaning the tubes with TFR, probably safer to drink too
