Hi this is my first post so be kind, can anyone please help with this one I'm not sure which engine option to go with. If price is taken out of the equation what would your choice be. I am concerned about service networks and fuel economy in particular as I have heard that the Verado is very thirsty.
Think the problem will be there are still very few Verados about to compare them with, whilst there are quite a few Evinrudes in the 200 - 250 backet.
If you have a read of this thread and watch Steves video you can see Phil B's Ballistic 7.8m just cruising through the waves on the way the Alderney, nice boat.
Thanks for the reply, really interesting thread, as you say the Ballistic looks as good as I had hoped it would. I havn't really heard any bad news on either engine but it seems to be coming down to wider service support on the Mercury V's an edge on reliability on the older Evinrude engine.
