Ballistic rib
Saw a ballistic 6.5 on trailer the other day looked a very nice rib and hull looked okay for some serious ribbing. I am embarrassed to say I do not know much about them and do not know anybody that has one. Would be interested if any of the members who have ballistics enlighten me.

A friend of mine had the 7.8 which we took out in some fairly rough weather (about a force 6), it handled great and was very quick given the weather.
I can't advise on what they are like to live with longer term but certainly a contender for a fun day out on the water.

My 7.8 is built like a tank. The deck is an inch thick and I think the stringers are thicker than that.
Can't comment on the handling just yet!

They handle well due to the agressive chines, very responsive, on the flipside they can be quite "slammy". I went out on a couple when Ribex had the show on the IOW.

Yup - we had the 6.5 and it coped with everything the south coast could throw at it.
Very seaworthy and I only sold it after 3 years (and 300 hours) to get something with a cabin.
Especially good if you take family out as there's lots of useable seating and locker room.
I'd definitely consider getting one again if/when I downsize.

Not very subtle, Billy. Most of use PM's for this type of question. But as you've come out, so to speak, I heard GaRfie used ballistics against PWC's - but he's moved on a while now. Perhaps you could PM his 'keeper'? ;-)

Ah, but gaRfiE is "ded an burried"! As for his sprog, unless Jambo is holding out on me, I'm fairly sure he is unaware of the ID of wilLfish's Gramps.

Hi nice to hear from you. . No I have not gone to the dark-side
I have not seen one up here before and was genuinely interested from a ribbing point of view. Cheers
