BananaShark Team E-Lites launch party

Launching our new sponsor E-Lites Electronic Cigarettes for 2011 and 2012 - The Race boat in its new livery complete with the latest networked Raymarine electronics and amazingly economical Yanmar engines will be alongside the bar for the evening with the usual great drink and food available - Book early if you're coming and everyone is welcome!

We will be doing a limited number of demo's to genuinely interested parties and VIP's during the day and possibly on Sunday weather and time permitting - pre-booked only though.

No free beer! :-)

Here are some graphics kindly rendered by Petter Martins in Norway (Scand on here), these are the rough idea of how the boat will look, luckily there is no tobacco involved so they can't ban us from TV!

We will be keeping the interior matt black but producing small stickers for the benefit of the on board cameras.

PHP Code:
launch party E-Lites Barrus Raymarine BananaShark

Mmmmmm There seems to be a little feet dragging going on - it has to go to a committee now after it has been passed to the UIM (who don't have any problems with it), a decision that could have taken one person to sign it off!

Oooops 13th August from 6.30 pm onwards! That's what happens when you cut and paste from a Facebook page that has those details on a separate line!

Thats all right then. At the moment the RYA are insisting that I have a full international race Licence to go around the world. It means nothing to them that I have every boating Qualification available under the sun and that I have worked bloody hard to get and now they want to charge me for a usless piece of paper that anyone can get without much experiance. Money making Scheme or what?

I would have thought quoting previous experience would do it - after all you are the go to guy for this sort of madness - oooops sorry adventure!!!!!

I was led to understand you don't need a race licence if you're not racing, is this new?

You could always pop in to the workshop and say Hi,
We're not

Any record attempt now requires a license, which is crap!

Uno embassy came second LAST YEAR in Class A in the Cowes Torquay race - the boat also won on at least one other occasion in 1975 entered by Don Shead of all people. Wan't Miss Embassy the turbine boat - I have a feeling the Nurse brothers had a lot to do with that boat?

A comparison has been made to the Malboro colours, and as an ex addict of William Morris's products I do get the irony - however the electronic things have nothing but nicotine in them and they are legal everywhere - even on a plane!

Edit: Gotchi got there before me - I was actually on the pontoon watching them come in after getting pretty much drowned in "Garmin" (more irony considering my new sponsors!). Not sure of the similarity between the boats though?

It's this weekend people! We will have the boat on the water all weekend and hope to give lots of people rides - don't forget the party in the evening at the Island Street Bar and Grill

We had a fantastic weekend, lots of people got a ride in the boat and the party at the Island Street bar and Grill was also packed - apparently they broke the record for the number of covers in one night! Tim Tapping was on hand to record the event and a bloody good job he did too!

My favourite:

The stripes and the extension make the boat look even longer now!
