SWGINN after your excellent "out of water RIB" photo, Ricky and myself have set ourself a challange to do better!!! I know a hard act to follow your pic was very cool, however a bit of competition is juts what we need to make us try harder!!

Thats hardly fair competition, there's 2 of ye, both with quality cameras. First I gotta get somebody to drive the sh#t out of my boat, get a platform boat, and try my best with my Canon Ixus. You've got no excuse now!!
Can't wait to see what you come up with though, should be great judging by your previous shots!!
I've got a plan up my sleeve too, not my photo but gives you an idea!! Now when's the next F6 blowin up??

The boat had a 1 yr warranty, engine as you say was 2 years. However both are now out of warranty.

Well so far you have the best pic I have seen on here with your ixus. So much for flash cameras ... its all in the moment, and you got it! It is a really good pic. I am very jealous I did not take it.

Very true, it all happened very fast, was soaked afterwards but saw the pic and that made up for it!! Finding it hard to improve on it though, gonna get a new camera for Xmas I think so that should help.

How good is the XS 650/700 from Barnet Marine
Hi Guys
This is my first message to the forum so hello to you all. I am an experienced boater having owned various powerboats. I have not however owned a Rib, which is definetly my next purchase.
I have a budget around £15000 and have recently read a bit about the XS 650/700. which looks promising.
However you are the guys who really know. I would welcome any feedback, good or bad as to how I should progress.
Many Thanks
Topbuoy

Just a quick update on how good Barnet Marine are!
I had the extended fuel tank put onto my 7.2m XS-Rib, unfortunately the extended bit isn't moulded like the rest of the boat and so had to fabricated for me. Laurence has said that they are looking into making a mould for this and I would suggest can be hopefully ready this year.
However as mine was fabricated for my RIB I askd whether I could have a seat cushion made and sent him a detailed technical drawing with all the sizes on expecting to be charged for the seat cushion.
Nope........seat cushion arrived today with some tough sticky stuff with which to attach the seat cover and no charge! How cool is that!!!
Now I'm not saying your gonna get a free seat out of Barnet as I notice they now have them as an option on their website, but it is refreshing to see a supplier that is open to suggestions, acts on them and rewards the suggestion with the odd freebie.
Both myself and Steve G (swginn) are in the process of asking for removable backrests with a simple but ingenous design (courtesy of Steve) so will let you all know how we get on!

a very quick search produced the result that that building is a load of serviced offices for companies to hire.

No other boat manufacturer in the same building then?
I'd have thought knowing how most companies opperate they tend to use the same people to setup similar things within their business i.e. they use the same company or lawyers for formations, trusts, registered offices, copyright etc etc.
Keep digging as it's all good information and you never know you might hit the jackpot!

Barnet Marine is also registered at that address! But I guess that still doesn't get us any closer to who makes the hull!

B*gger! I was hoping Barnet wouldn't have been registered there and it was registered by the actual company building the ribs!
Looks like another successful smoke screen by Barnet!
