Just sold a car and have a nearly new very powerful yellow top 12v optima (over £200)battery, could I use this on my RIB or do I need a special marine battery ?

Depends on what you’re using it for. Perfect for a house battery, or a starter battery for a smaller engine.

No problem using it as a boat battery, but it’s nothing special.

It’s just a standard Chinese AGM battery in a fancy case with years of marketing behind it.

Not that I've ever bought one, but I never realised that from the glossy adverts in the Land Rover mags, or the reviews!
