I was just doing some housekeeping on my Profile (a fine likeness) and I spotted the following:
"Last Activity: 07 May 2010 10:08
Current Activity: Viewing Thread Bear gets a Ribquest "
It looks like The Emperor has No Clothes!

Some more pics from the handover, unfortunately one of the Suzukis was not playing ball so the test run was a 20knot cruise around.
Still think those tubes are very low in the water, but that is just IMO and I may of course be completely wrong (would not be the first time )
I just hope Bear likes scrubbing weed off the bottom of hypalon !

It does appear a bit low, Chris. The boat in the background looks to be a similar size with identical engines, but it's tubes sit much higher at rest. Did you see what type it was?

Thanks for your comments guys as usual very entertaining. As I have said before if you are at the show don't be shy come and see me I'm happy to have a chat and you can have a demo run. At least then you are able to make you own judgment based on the facts as you find them.
Regards Dave.

No doubt Bear will do something OTT, like smash-up the Ribquest and make a crap raft out of it.

see now unless i am being completly stupid (which wont be the first time) i read in the latest Rib magazine that Mr Grylls is using "a Canadian-build Zodiac Hurricane Mach 2" to do his little trip in. Picture is taken of him infront of a Cougar R8 as well so its got just about all his previous boats covered too!!
Is the Ribquest his personal boat or is he taking a fleet to invade the northwest passage?

I'm sure that BG is a cracking chap, but I'm no fan of his presentation style or progs. IMV, it's dumbed down 'survival' with added pizazz produced for Yank consumption.

Details here of Bear's 14-day expedition to raise awareness about global warming as he tackles Canada's infamous north-west passage in an 11m Zodiac Hurricane Mach II RIB. Powered by twin 300hp - it's not exactly eco-friendly!

Wouldn't mind going myself!

He must like his Ribs as he has just bought my sons Zodaic pro 12 at Ribex. It had only been used twice.
The guys selling it for us was Southampton Dry Stack
If it was the other way around and we were buying one of his Ribs it would have made a lot more money. Funny old world
Steve
