berthing / slip near dolphin quay poole

Hello to one and all quick question that may of been asked before but as this forum is just so helpful thought I would ask.

Having played over the weekend in my rib , got a few days with the family staying in poole harbour next week for 3 days if the weather holds up fancy taking the rib down with us.
Question where do I launch ? where can I leave a trailer , where could I leave it on the water ?

thanks to one and all and happy monday

Baiter Park is the nearest (and probably only) public slip. Very shallow though so pick your tide time or take a wetsuit! Not sure about leaving trailer o/n or security. You will need to pay harbour dues/launch fee. I would give the harbour master a ring to check. (goodish website). They are usually quite helpful. You could leave the boat afloat in the Poole Quay Boat Haven (public) or try one of the friendlier yacht clubs like Parkstone YC (private).

Others will be along with better info soon I'm sure.

Also......10 knot speed limit is now 'relaxed' in the harbour (but still applies in the harbour entrance and 1000m to seaward of north haven beacon and in the 'quite area's) Yippee!

Keep a listen out on VHF 14 (VTS) for shipping movements if you are pottering about in the harbour.
