Yellow - Easiest to spot from helihopter.
Or Blue - Just looks classy.
Orange is a bit common if you ask me... lol

Visibility wise Orange, orange and a bit more orange. Can't beat it!
However my new ones going to be grey tubes, black triple strakes, black hull and black topsides.
In fact the order finally went in about 5 mins ago.

choppywaters,
agree with Pettal; just has to be orange!!!!!
Especially if you are venturing out in your parts!
Added bonus over here of people thinking you are the Coastguard and giving you all sorts of respect.
(Down side is that everyone pulls you over and asks stupid questions like "why is your boat Orange" as Homeland security did to me recently)
cheers Dal

Just fot back from Greece (in THe US, EST now) and im still adjusting to the time so my days have been extra long! heh 5 am-11pm work in between. heh
And to agree with my fellow US Ribster if I had a orange RIB in Mass. everyone would either wave and try to be friendly or slow down and pretend like nothing was going on, even though they were over capacity with beer and no life jackets on board! lol

I have owned ribs in the following colors yello dark blue light grey dark grey orange . Dark blue seems to have the most longevity dark grey is easy to keep clean orange is OK the other 2 colours are hard work to maintain!
I too think black is cool however I am told that it an get very hot in the summer and your passengers need to avoid touching the tubes also you might consider pressure relief valves

I've had pressure relief valves put onto the new one just for that reason. However even on the orange rib the black patches can get a tad warm....which is pretty useful after a dive to warm your ass up!

I was told by an RNAS bloke, that yellow was more preferable to being spotted than an orange rib. Plus there are less of them. Think bumble bee / wasp colours, they are easy to spot. So is yellow vs. sea.
Most importantly, what ever colour you choose, a decent cover / keeping it indoors will stop it fading and looking crap..

Orange/Black - All dive ribs, work boats or anyone needing to be viewed as purposeful and not an "ordinary user"
Yellow/Black - Similar to above but dont blame us if you get insects trying to mate with it.
White and Blue - Small scale gin palace livery and anyone in a bikini
Off Grey - Reserved for ex MOD Pac 22s
Red or Blue - Anyone who cant make their mind up about the above.
Will submit this for JK to approve then get all the manufacturers on board. Being serious I remember s while back a doco on army helicopter traing there aircraft were black and hi-viz orange....hmmm that may have solved my Gecko colour scheme quandry.
