Bimbling about from Oban

I shall be dragging the RIB up to Oban for a few days light boating from 21st August to about 24th August.

Is anyone aware of any 'organised' events or am I going to be left to my own devices? The current frau Wright and I have come up with a few possibilities, although the planned 'Three divers in a boat go round Mull' or alternatively 'Brokeback Mountain in neoprene' is now planned for 2018 when all of the guys can get flight clearance.

Cheers!

You may already have seen the puffin dive centre web site? Worth checking out if you're into that sort of thing.... And you might read the last few posts on here under the Oban to mull Sib meet that happened last weekend. The vids from gurnard are worth watching. Plenty of sheltered water to cover almost any weather conditions, and a lot of documented dive sites... What do you plan to do siteseeing or diving or whisky tasting? Camping or 5star hotels? More info on your wants might help focus our responses, but Oban has got it all.

If the weather's poor you can also head north up to Glencoe.
Boat club has a pontoon they're happy to let you use for a small donation.

I go up to Oban maybe three times a year for the land-based and diving so this trip was planned to be a spend the thick end of the day on the water with the proviso of a single dip somewhere.

We are staying in one of the chalets at Puffin (I find them great) so that once launched the boat can stay tethered to a buoy and the rough plans were basically as per some of the early posts......a trip with Tobermoray as the mid-point stop.....Easedale.

I was mainly wondering if there was anything planned, unfortunately I missed the Oban/Mull SIB trip but it can be good in a planned five days if we could maybe spend some time in company.
