Mine came with a floating strap, but to be honest I've never put it to test.

I reckon one of those inflating key fobs from dragon's den would work.
Now, has anybody experienced one of them working?

I had one fitted to my boat keys. It went off suddenly whilst I was motoring along in smooth seas. I thought I was going to need an underwear change.

ALDI sell these marine glasses from time to time for 70 pounds. Really clear, compass display and posh yellow floaty strap. I love mine and have had them for several years.

I'm looking for a pair that can be recommended. Usable at night too.
Any ideas?

Go for 7x50. Optimum for low light. BUT....

I have a pair of Bushnell binos with a built in compass, but don't use them as they get in the way. I prefer a simple pair of 7x50 with a hand bearing compass. In hindsight, I don't think I'd buy the compass binos again. They just dn't get used as I always pick up the old ones... which cost £5 in a charity shop.

I'm still on my Aldi "Traveller" bins for the price amazing. If you don't use everyday well worth the money. Steiners or other quality might be better in long run.

I think I'll stick with my monocular. It fits in my pocket so I don't have to go hunting for it.

Don't you find that the smoking jacket & silk cravat are a tad impractical for the boat though?

Binoculars/smoking jacket. Smoking jacket/binoculars. Hmmm ... Tough call
