I never have done yet in any of our diesel boats, including the sailing yacht which is lifted ashore and not used all winter, and often still has hundreds of litres in the tank.

Maybe we've just been lucky, but so far not had any problems.

At the moment the RIB is out most days for an hour or two - I think is the best way to prevent any fuel issues is to burn through the fuel as quickly as possible!

I'm with Beamishken on this - no big issues when burning the tank regularly but I add Marine 16 to my stored fuel and to the boat tank when I expect a lull in operations/overwintering. Water is the big enemy as most growth occurs at the fuel/water interface, or so I've been told - make sure you have none in your tanks.
