Boat Graphics

Got my boat name from Wet & Wild Graphics (at the advice of people on this forum)

Its made from their "Flexo" Vinyl which is supposed to be great for things that Flex.

Just stuck them on - lets hope you were all right and they stay there !

These where £10 + Vat each.

I supplied a Corel Draw image of what I wanted rather than just telling them the boat name and picking one of their fonts but they do that as well.

After getting them stuck on you remove the positioning sheet and then go over them with a hair dryer to get it real hot then rub them down with a cloth. This melts the glue and also gets the vinyl to actually bond to the texture of the hypalon.

Here's a close up.

No idea what you call this font, frontier or something like that.

Im suprised no one has recognised it and said something yet.

It comes from a program all about a ship with the same name as my boat that is lost very far away - trying to get home.

It seemed a very apt name for my boat as thats pretty much what I intend to do with my "Voyager"

Or "Voyeur" if you intend to whip around to Carlyon Bay. . Graphics look great Roy. You may need to repaint the house though, those blues are clashing a bit, Darling!!

The name looks great Roy, and a great name it is too.

The font looks very "Star Trek" - it's the same titling used in all the later series, including Voyager!

I hope you don't get stuck in the Delta Quadrant

That looks really good.... My sr4 would have to have the name on in 'ransome note' font though....and I bet that'd be a real shit to apply...

I have a Q on da graphics front -

My Destroyer has the Humber logo on the bow tube where i would like to have the boat name.

Can the logo be easily removed without damage to the underlying material and allow the application of the supa graphic as at the start of this thread?

Any suggestions considered.

Cheers from "Blue Ribbin"

Would be quite interested in information on this also as 'Merlin' is still quite anonymous in appearance.

(Suppose it depends on the company doing the job-materials used?)

Hey Rogue aren't you going to be doing lettering & arty farty stuff for boats?

We might wait for that.

Im no expert but if your talking about removing a factory fitted hypalon logo - then yes - im sure with the corredct solvent to remove the glie it can be done.

Maybe one of the tubing manufactureres or rib repairers could jump in with some advice on how to do it and what solvent you need.
