There is a boat for sale in QAB Plymouth, called Total and in smaller letters underneath the words waste of money.
It's been for sale a while now, i wonder why.

Calling our new 6.5m 'Farfetched'. She succeeds a SIB called 'Improbable'. Farfetched is also a play on the technical term 'fetch' being the distance between waves - the greater the fetch, the longer the distance the wave has had to run (I think )

Correct Bruce 10 points and some more info regarding a fetch the longest fetch in the world is in the Pacific Ocean(as biggest Ocean) and it also has the highest waves on occasion sometimes as high as 50 ft and highest recorded ever 112 feet

Most memorable name I have seen was on a large sailing boat in Grand Cayman about 12 years ago. The guy who had her had given up his life of wealth in New York and sailed the world on his boat, wife never wanted a boat he always did, guess he got his way in the end. Boat was called FUJIMO, (F*$k You Jane I'm Moving Out).

Hi,
Can you post some pictures on the Other Stuff forum? There are a few experienced photographers on this site who should be able give you some advice.
Regards.

I saw a moderately impressive gin palace on Grand Cayman which made me giggle - 'Mama's Money'

First off, respect on the credibility, even Manos has more respect than you
Anyway, have a look at www.fredmiranda.com and possibly of more use is www.dpreview.com as there is a very active forum for D70 owners.
My only advice without seeing a picture with Exif information is perform a number of tests at F8 with different shutter speeds, check the results and histogram for a good balance.
Have a look at this as well ... http://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~komin/cu...70download.htm
Cheers
Mark
P.S. Just to get this post back on track. Four of my friends now own my first RIB ( 6m Delta ); boat is called 'Four Play'

Brambles / Mark, thanks for advice and links. I had been loyal to Sony starting with the P5, then F505, then F707, then F717, then F828, I must say the 828 was the best, easy to use and took micro drives. Anyway I was told that these cameras were nowhere near as good as digital SLR so thought I would try one to see what it was all about, well I think I dived in too deep, they are so complicated, need extra lenses carted about to get the same as the F828 and I can't get decent pictures even on auto! They all seem to come out a bit dark, perhaps I need to get out of auto mode and fiddle a bit. Anyway this is not about RIBS so better leave it there, if you want to see some pics and give me hints you can see them at :-
http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=372350
Some may seem odd but have been subject of experiments e.g. look at the reflections on the back of the air stewardess (some pictures are F828)

My parents used to have a shetland boat called "Take it easy"...
It was stored in a carpark behind their house, it was during the winter - we had let the tires down and chained it to a concrete post...
Anyway one day we looked out of the window and it had gone - some gits had stolen it... they didnt try and cut the chain, the broke the concrete post...
And according to some other neigbours (who kindly watched), they towed it away with flat tires to!
So, I guess they really did "Take it easy"
lol

Its all in a name..........
Seen photographed in a Scottish compilation book of funny news articles was the boat called the "Haar Dawn" ............obviously named after the early morning sea mists from the North Sea
