Boat Show / Shopping

We are going to get down to the boat show (for the first time) this year, and I need to get some more Ribing gear waterproofs and a fixed and handheld VHF’s etc.

What am I best to do buy from the tintter web just now or see what boat show specials there are kicking about down there?

Also has anyone had any experience of the Icom M33 quite keen as I like the sound of the floating bit, broke the last one due to lack of floating.

Clothing always seams to be cheap at the show if you don't mind going for less well known brands.

Electronics on the other hand appear to be cheaper from the usual internet sources. The benifit of the show is to play with the gear on the stand before going home and ordering online from somewhere else.

Or don't mind being seen in 'last seasons' colours - not much difference if it's red / blue or some combination.

There's bound to be some good electronics deals - some manufacturers will have show specials eg bundle packages and so on. Just depends if it's what you're looking for.

We're going to be helping out on the SM Group stand (G098)- should be there on these days: Sat 15 / Mon 17 / Wed 19 / Fri 21 / Sun 23

Top tip - keep an eye on local press for entry ticket competitions.

I have the Icom M33 and very pleased with it.

Havent actually chucked it in the sea yet, but it feels like it should float!

Its got well and truly drenched a few times though and seems fine afterwards.

For those who want to know we're on J 320 with South Devon Marine, which is in Solent Park, which by coincidence is not far from the Guinness stand!

One big advantage is we have a roof over our heads! (The sun will therefore shine for the entire 10 days then ...............)

We will be having a show deal on our show boat - Six meter 115 EFI four stroke with our new console and some jockey seats - Bargain!

was not looking at doing that much shopping, I am thinking about removing the tow bar just to remove temptation.
