I quite fancy keeping it with Ken Brown now. Whilst he he a bit more pricey then the rest he is only a 10 minute walk from where I am living. He also has the advantage of putting the boat in/taking it out of the water every time I want to use it so I woulnd't have to use my car and I wouldn't have to drive miles everytime I want to go out. I'm going to have another chat with him tomorrow to get a few more final details but would anyone happen to know if the price I have been quoted is likly to include storage of my trailer as well (I am assuming the boat will be on a rack rather then kept on it's trailer).

If you can afford to even consider keeping a boat with him, that wont wash!

Last time I checked, trailers were not included.

i think i pay about £400 for membership, 22ft boat and car pass/launch for year at calshot. Usually the waiting list seems to disapear when u register i was told i had to wait 2 years, when i actually got it in 6 weeks. I do know one person who just left his boat there and then eventually they let him stay!! if ur interested register for waiting list anyway

I've spent the morning phoning places as far as 25 miles away. All but one have a waiting list. The one that didn't was a caravan storage place and said he woulnd't be interested in having my RIB as I want to use it over the winter rather than just store it.

Disapointing

glad calshot worked out good for you, much cheaper than the stow and throw places.

will probably see you down there from time to time, my friends boat there is the mcgreggor 26 on the right as soon as you enter the compound

have fun

Calshot are charing me £110 from today until the end of March. This includes storage, free parking, use of 3 slipways, hose for cleaning/flushing etc, changing rooms/showers/loos. There's also a bar and cafe on site which could be useful!

Also, would anyone happen to know whether the Morrisons on the road to Calshot has a petrol station?

If you mean the Morrisons at totton/ashurst bridge just before the stretch of dual carriageway then yes it does.
