Boating Xmas Must Haves

'Tis that time of year when I'm being asked "what do you want for Chrsitmas, and i'm racking my brains ideas.

Given Christmas gifts in my family to me - apart from from Mrs T to me (I hope) tend to be sub £50.00 what are the things / gadgets that would be useful?

Apart from a new foghorn and fire extinguisher I'm struggling.

Have LED flare,
Floating smokes new last year
Charts are upto date on plotter & paper ones I use corrected (more or less)
Sealskin and fingerless gloves
Decent shades.

There must be stuff I "need", just don't know about

Not convinced about decent sunglasses. I replaced the lenses on my Oakley sunglasses after Neptune reminded me that sea salt eats them for breakfast.

*USB charging point on the boat
*Foam fenders and fore and aft mooring lines
*Halfords battery charger
*Michelin tyre compressor

Life really is too Short for all that surly Chaps!??

You can always try (with a little imagination) to make you're Boating more interesting and a pleasure for the "Better Half" Wilk??...
Even a Marriage Councillor MAY better be an option!...

Failing that.... a decent Lawyer!

I've met Mrs Willk. There's no need for the " " : she is definitely the better half!

But to be fair, it's not a very high bar

Yes i'd take that every time

To be fair it's not Mrs T that prevents me from getting out, that's normally work, weather & supporting the younger Terrires' pursuits.

Ah - there was some confusion - I was referring to the general boating population. Missus willk is delighted when I go boating (alone) because I'm a charter skipper and she collects the earnings. On the nicest of days, maybe twice a year, she ventures offshore to Tory/Inishtrahull/Rathlin/Islay but only if the catering and bar (high or low) arrangements are the very best.
