It is quite humbling to think of the poor sods that arrived by landing craft and had to climb those cliffs whilst under constant fire only to discover the guns hadn't arrived / been moved.

It certainly is, especially when you view it from the seaward side.

I wonder what they would think if they could hear the average conversation moaning about the price of fuel or queuing for three hours to get a stitch in a cut finger

👍I saw a headline last week about strikes on southern rail bringing "misery" to thousands. For me, misery is being shot at, bombed, starved, walking 5miles each way for clean water. Not having an enforced day off work or being late for your morning latte.

Look at the pain footballers have to put up with!! I mean they are constantly writhing on the ground! It's a tough job!! A few stray rounds flying through the air just can't compare to a sprain!
