Bowline rope trick

I've done a search but can't find a bowline trick I'm sure I read on here some years back.

I'm trying to avoid falling in the water arse over tit uncoupling my shore bowline (permanently fixed) from the eye under the tubes at the prow.
I seem to remember that there was some sort of loop/clip arrangement which allowed it to be all released and reconnected from the eye inside the prow.
Anyone got a description or diagram?

I think it was Willk who showed off his mooring setup once upon a time that you are probably remembering, as I vaguely recall the same!

Dunno if this is the same application? My description was likely of my mooring strop/s. I detach/attach the main strop to the boweye on the hull when aboard a tender - it's not remote in any sense.

Why don’t you just leave it attached, and just tie it off somewhere. Just make sure the length can’t reach the prop.
