Brand new to RIB world - have questions

Hello all,

We just recently got a new boat, which came with a 2002 zodiac yacht line as a tender. I'm not very familiar with this style of boat, andI have some questions that I'm hoping to find some answers to.

In the back of the boat hear the transom, there is a box / container with a wide mouth screw-open lid. This container has a hole in the bottom, which lets water in when the boat is put into the water. The boat came with 2 drain plugs, one screw-in style which I inserted into the drain in the rear. The second is a flapper style which I thought might plug that hole in that rear container, however it's too small. What would that plug go to, and why does that box have an open hole in the bottom?

In the picture, what is that round-ish rubber capped fitting in the lower right?

Thank you for all the help!

Hi

I might be on completely the wrong track, but that Box added on the back looks like it coverts the moulded hull from a small inboard engine installation to Outboard configuration.

it could be that the 'Flapper' (self bailer) style plug fits in a hole now covered by the Box. Or is there another hole off to one side of the box?

Nasher.

I'll look and see, I wasn't;'t sure if there are other holes that typically need to be plugged for normal operation. I'm familiar with the drain plug, but wasn't sure what else to look for. Kind of odd to have a box in the back full of water.
