Breathing dry suits
I'm looking for a drysuit that breathes for ribbing in my new Ribcraft 4.8 (oh,am I excited!) and I've seen mention of a company called Ravenspring. Their suit is much more reasonably priced than Gore-tex based breathing suits here in the USA and I would like to here any feedback about their product. Durability, fit, anything. Also I'd be up for other suggestions on a quality, durable suit.
My Ribcraft (due here in two weeks) is supplied by (the new) Ribcraft USA and I've been very impressed with the service and attention to detail I've received. I've also gotten great information from this forum. Thanks to everyone for that.
Nick

drysuit
Nick,
www.concordeaerosales.com represents Multifab dry suits in the USA. 100 % breathable 3 layer fabric, very well made and durable suits. I was able to buy a rental suit at a very good price and the condition of the suit was like new. Just another option for you. Good luck with your new Ribcraft.
Neil

Nick Ravenspring ARE the Dobermann's undercarriage when it comes to affordable, breathing, drysuits. I and many of my buddies are seriously happy owners.
e-mail if you need more info or Ravenspring contact points.
Good luck with your new boat.

Ravenspring
I second Brians comments. I've had a Ravenspring for 3 years and have been very happy with it. Lightweight, fits well and looks OK! The Ravenspring people are very helpful and I'm sure they would be chuffed to nuts to make a sale to the US!
Two pieces of advice .... firstly go for integral boots rather than socks and secondly if you intend to wear it for a long time do get the rather unsightly but bloody useful crotch zip!!
HTH,
Alan

I agree. Ravenspring suits are excellent bits of kit.
They're also nice people to deal with, and can tailor the suit to your requirements.
I have to disagree with Alan though - I prefer the latex socks, which can be worn with trainers or other light footwear.
The comfort zip is a must.

No need to admit the typo, just go back in and edit it, that's what I do!

thanks everyone
Good feedback, thanks much. I called concorde and they've sent me info on the used suits, Sirzap, and they look excellent. I've also corresponded with Ravenspring and they couldn't be more patient answering my many questions. You know, its hard to evaluate something that you can't look at and touch. Kind of like a mail order bride.

Are you now recommending we go for a mail order bride?
Whats the inside on that then? You sound like an expert.
Hey, your not one of those guys who mixes the two are you?....rubber suits and oriental females?
