Is the Ribcraft 5m the "leisure" specked one with a moulded deck ect...?..if so it is a bit of a departure from the RC norm.
Matt h had a Traditional build (ply deck-Transome ect) 5m built new...with I think a 90 yam 2stroke on the back which went well! And was a good Outfit...His favourite boat...quite something for someone who's had about 60!
Depending on what your after..You may find the 60 is a bit tame.

Yep, it may even indicate that other manufacturers do a better job on 'leisure' layouts.

It's certainly a stray from the RC norm. Not seen one like that before & not sure if I want to see another. The fundamentals would still be sound though, hull/tubes/transom. Just "Odd" topsides

Daring to be different and having a boat with a similar layout to the RC and using it in the same water.... I'd suggest for the uses the OP suggests it may be a good bet.
Better riding than the brig, probably a lot tougher and all with the practical aspect of a full 'leisure' lay out.
Different can work well or fail hugely. I'd still take the RC over the Brig....And for three on board with some bags etc the RC will still get you home even in the worst youre likely to run into around the Dorset coast.

Ribtec 550 Freeway was a similar oddity.
Whilst "Different" can be better, it isn't always so!

50000 units sold in 50 countries ..... Brig are not a back street manufacturer..the Aussies and USA are their biggest markets
I am happy with mine ....open your minds... And no bullet holes when it arrived!
The trouble is here ....you don't know what you don't know....

Neither Australia nor the USA are known for their RIB markets - still a rare enough craft compared to the hard boats. Until recently, RIBnet didn't even apply trade membership to USA based companies "pour encourager les autres". Lada built a lot of cars. 15 billion dung beetles may have the numbers on their side, but I'm still having steak for dinner...
