Bristol Docks info

Thinking of launching at Bristol tomorrow and taking the kids (3+5) up the canal towards Bath.

Has anyone experience of how far you can go?

Do you need to get a British Waterways Licence as well as a Bristol docks permit?

Cheers

you can use the main public slip situated just past force four chandlery and through the lifting gate, intercom access first... day licence inc insurance is £12 and as long as the lock gates are open at netham locks (ask the bristol harbourmaster for this info) then you should be ok to get to keynsham at least.,good luck!!

Thanks Matt.

Yup had planned to launch at the Bristol Marina slip. Spoke to them earlier to confirm pricing.

Hoping to get in the water relatively early and avoid the inevitable bun fight!

Will try and record with piccy's

Hi, was just wondering how you got on yesterday in the docks, I have used the docks a few times to cruise around and also to head to the sea through the Cumberland Basin lock but I have never been brave enough to venture up the canal although it has been something that I have considered a few times.
