Building an SR 4.7?

Whilst flitting through eBay one night I came across a "shoe" from an sr4.7 and it has got me thinking whether it could be used as a mould to build one?

I know it might be fraught with copyright issues, have no resale value and probably end up costing and arm and a leg, but....

Might it be a fun project and really interesting? I would love to up my sr4 to a sr4.7 but as everyone knows they are like hens teeth.

So would it be possible or is it just a eBay pipe dream?

that "shoe" just looked to me like a hull with no transom and no tube flanges?

Looking at the shiny inside face I'd say it is a protective shoe - allbeit much larger than one would normally have!

Could be the basis for a mould - but probably not worth the effort and definitely would put Avon / Zodiacs nose out of joint.

I know that chunk of GRP. It's far too thin to build anything on and was originally meant to protect the SR4.7 it was on when run up the beach.

It's a good idea if you want to use an SR4.7 hard, but not the basis for a boat.

Fair enough, I'll leave it be. One day one will come up
