Bulk Buy EPIRB - Whose Interested?

I read a lot of correspondance with the MCA regarding the appeal by the industry to legalise PLBs on land in the UK.

Their response was that the rescue services will not automatically respond to an alert on land, they will assume it's been set off by accident and telephone the number supplied at registration.
If there is somebody there who informs them you are in a situation where you may require rescue then they will respond, otherwise they will continue to attempt to contact the registered owner.

So really you want to give them a number that will always be manned by someonw who knows you are out doing dangerous things ?

Coastguard Helicopter
RN/RAF SAR Chopper
Large RNLI lifeboat ( or two)
Several 'Play Boy' esqe nurses to warm me up
Heavily armed Royal Marine types- if needed
The wife never to know I have been in any trouble
The Boat to be taken home & fixed ( and at least valeted)
A book deal telling of my 'daring/ stupid ' expliots
