Buying advice, Swift Rib

Hello there,

New member here, longtime lurker..

Just did a brief introduction on the new members forum.

I am looking for advice with regards to buying my third Rib.

It's an Australian made 4.5m Swift Rib, aluminium Hull with a jockey centre console, A-frame, 60 Yamaha four stroke with Hydraulic steering. It's a 2006 model
( Boat and Engine) , Ex-police Rib, no underfloor tank.
Major service completed June 2017 by Yamaha dealer with 10 hours since.
Report shows 96-98 psi over the 4 cylinders.
Dunbier trailer in good order and 12 months rego on both boat and trailer.
Has 2 way radio but no other electronics or safety gear.
Hypalon tubes with covers over them, four compartments without leaks.

Asking price is 7000 AU $ firm which equals 3570 Pound Sterling.

I am wondering if someone here knows what sort of Range I would get with the 60 Yami four stroke on that boat with a 25l tank or obviously taking two of those. Just curious about the economy of that set up? Also would like to hear if people would consider taking this boat offshore in the right condition and with required safety gear.

I am no newbie to boating and Ribs but this set up is new to me.

Would love to hear what you think about the price as well; good deal / bad deal...

Cheers,

Rob

In a SR4 with a 50hp Evinrude, I used to get about 40 miles out of a 25l tank on a nice day - that’s all out of fuel though, you should save about 25% spare.

I think that’s a good boat/engine combo but it will have worked hard and looks a bit beaten around. I’d definitely want to know how many hours are on that engine! It will be well serviced though.
