Buying Flares and the dreaded replace by date...

About to buy a coastal flare pack for the boat. What is considered a good life of a flare from the time of purchase????
I've seen some places selling flares cheaper than others but it occurred to me that the replace by date may have been closer than it could have been.

Anything over three years is normal. Anything less should be discounted appropriately.
