BWM deepsea 18 need info !!! help me ...

" Hello, I am French and I do not speak English, I use an automatic translator to have a dialogue with you. Please excuse me if the translation is bad. "

Hello, I have just bought a bwm deepsea 18 and the boat does not contain of " conformity CE ". I have in my ownership a handwritten bill of sale with the type(chap) of boat, the type(chap) of engine and the serial number of the engine and the radiation of the SSR. I look for any documents concerning the boat, if somebody has documents concerning the size, the manufacturing or quite different concerning documlent model I would be happy!

With the only documents in my ownership he(it) is impossible for me of registered the boat , that's why I come towards you. I does not even know the year of construction of the boat...

I have to buy the boat has to paul lemmer, but that this sold his(her) company and does not have documents anymore concerning the boat and the new owner of the company lost all the documents of boats built has this time(period)... : Bang:

If souls charitable can send to me by Email or by answering on comment any documents I would never be you enough reconnaisssant.

For information I wish to register the boat in Belgium

Thank you. Vincent

Does the hull have a Hull Identification Number HIN on it, probably on the transom?

If so it may be possible to get year of manufacture. The year could be useful to determine if it predates the CE mark rules.

RIBase
I think a BWM Deepsea 18 will have been built before CE marking was required for boats - 18 June 1998.

Yes but I have no document which allows to register the boat (size, length, builder(manufacturer), persons on board, maximum power) here is or is my problem, in France and in Belgium they are more annoying that at your home(with you), if a piece of information is missing it restores you your file(case) and your revener later!

Vincent,

I have searched some old threads out for you to look at.

I used to own a Deepsea 17 (which was 18' long). Great starter RIB, but has limitations in rougher conditions. I never felt unsafe in mine and had water inside up to the tube tops, always felt stable! Mine had a few cracks in the gel coat, but these IMO were age related and never seemed to get any worse.

Good luck in your quest to find any sort of documentation. There isn't any that I know of.

Thing is Vincent. BWM has been out of business for many years. I guess that any papers if supplied in the first place would be long gone.

There must be a way of registering it as a special build. As a one off?

Hi Vincent , if you post up some photos of the rib , mainly the bow i may be able to help you out on year as the bow was slightly changed (anti stuff) in the late 90s , if its the one i know you may be hard pushed to get a CE ticket . unless its a porter brothers rib etc , Anyway nice to see Andy still keeping the Bwm ribs going!! Ben
