Cabin Humber
Saw this nice looking cabin Humber on Poole Quay Marina today. She followed us into Swanage to watch the Red Arrows. She was back in the marina tonight.
Anyone on here?
Steve

I am afraid if I spent enough to get something with a cabin it would need to have me sitting in it while driving

Saw it again out on the water and should have got some more pictures. Had to chuckle as when sat at the helm, you cant really see over the roof of the cabin.

Maybe if they had actually cut window panels out of the mould and stuck a pair of decent Scotseats in there, they'd be on to something big....
No, forget it, that's just silly talk

A bit negative folks. Plainly it's driven about and parked fine so I guess the driver can see where he/she is going. It's an open boat with all that's good about that but nice, dry accommodation for staying away from home occasionally. An inboard diesel (A bit presumptuous I suppose.) so it can be fueled most places. Makes sense to me.

Had a close look on Friday. Agreed not the prettiest cabin but it was very well put together.

We have just sold our Scorpion because we wanted to go further and with no accomadation it was a lottery booking a B & B with the weather
so somthing at a senseable price with basic accomadation is lacking in the market place, apart from the Shearwater, must agree that humber dose look a bit of a munter

I wonder how hard it would be to graft a Shearwater cabin onto another hull (and how much it'd cost to do and fit out).

I'm not sure what you count as "sensible price" but as a scorpion owner you are presumably not at the budget end of the market - do none of these tick your boxes: Zar, Redbay, Excalibur, Parker? Who I think all do basic accommodation with or without a wheelhouse. There are probably others too.

Absolutely, then you could become a water gypsy and venture further than the Isle of Wight. As for you Mr Will K, I'm disappointed, I would have thought such a boat would have appealed to your distillery venturing escapades. If you took the trouble to pre-prepare your sleeping bag, pillow and wee pale, not forgetting the necessary night time ventilation, I would have thought such a cabin would prove a bonus after a night of liquid entertainment... Slainte mhath!

Don't be, just read my posts a little slower the next time, after all, I type them slowly. Here, I'll edit it a bit and make it easier...

...don't be disappointed, or grumpy. I was just attempting to point out that you may have got the wrong end of the stick, the post wasn't directed at or about you
Speaking of mixed signals, I don't recognise that Code you have flying on the Humber's rigging? Is it "Skipper in Sartorial Distress?"

Jeff, have you got space to sleep in there? I have to say I prefer your format to the cabin in the OP - but I know many people here like the idea of the wind in their hair and spray in their face.

I'd have thought you'd know that one - "persons bringing alcohol welcome to board" - you'll find a similar arrangement in my back "garden".
