can anyone help? is this a good price?

Hi all

Back again asking those dreadfull questions again!!! I will get out on the water oneday!!

while the boat is off the water im doing loads of work and tubes are looking old and knackered one only stays up for 5 days!! handles are coming away and have some patches which look a bit suspicious.

Ive contacted gemini and they've come back with the following, is this a good deal as i've never had to deal with tubes!! its for a 6.3m Ocean, not being used all the time and mainly used as a fun boat and support boat for my racing dinghy.

£1290 for the tube, in HD material (marine PVC) we need 1/2 a tube to copy,
see web site www.geminiindustries.co.uk
Colous attached
£350 fitting, depending where you are.

Any thoughts would be much apreciated.

Regards

Phill

Gemini dont put their tubes together in the tranditional way. Rather than gluing or welding them together they're stiched, and then an inflatable "bladder" is put inside to make them airtight. I suppose this method means that they are less likely to burst if you catch on something like a sharp barnicle etc but Im not sure if would be up to it over the long term. Best way to describe it is to compare it to a bouncy castle; the tubes seem to be made from the same sort of stuff and are stiched in the same way. They certainly are a lot cheaper than anything else out there but I suppose you get what you pay for.
