Can The Throttle Be Reversed ??
Hi having always drove the likes of Regals and maxum bow riders were the trim control was always positioned for use by the thumb i was wondering can the throttle control be reversed to allow me the same setup as at the moment the trim control on my rib would be located at the other side so your wee finger would be the main control point, also why is the majority of throttle controllers on ribs like this ? cheers

Because it's mounted on the console side. You can get around it by reversing the handle and using 20-25mm of spacers on the mounting bolts between the control box and the console.

Can i ask why you feel the need to participate in smart a** comments and participate in a condescending manner, I came on here as i felt it may be a helpful and good resource to build some knowledge and gain some friendly advice however this doesn't same to be the case at times. I have used ybw forums for many years and never experienced this type of behaviour particularly NOT from and forum admin/~~Moderator !!!!!!!!!!. Quite a few people have sent me pm's stating the same.....

Any way, back to my original question, what make is the throttle? RIBs don't have special engines, there isn't a "right or wrong" way to rig a RIB. If you had a 150 Etec/mercury/Yam or whatever on a Maxun or Bowrider, it would be the same engine & throttle that would be fitted to a RIB. If you have just received your new boat, I'm assuming you had some input to the manufacturer how you wanted it rigging, some TnT buttons can be swapped over, some aren't as easy. If you want us to help, you need to help us by giving more info than just as king a question. It's like ringing the doctor & saying "I don't feel well, what's wrong with me?". We're not psychic, psychotic maybe, but not psychic
PS & yes, Willks comment was aimed at me, if you want to get on, on here, you need to develop a thick skin & a sense of humour....quick

Ok Point Taken.. I will check the make of the throttle lever tomorrow and get back to you what i can confirm at the moment is that the engine on the boat is a 150hp Yamaha not sure if that helps you or not....

Right, now we're getting somewhere, it's probably safe to assume that the throttle is Yam too, all we need to know now is binnacle or side mount? Personally I'm not au fait with Yam kit, but someone will know.

Of course you may ask. Recently, this forum was hijacked by spoof users whose accounts were used to promote a certain brand of RIB that rhymes with Twig. You can read more about it here: Linky
I didn't see the pictures attached to your first post on RIBnet, but the Admin who did wasn't impressed - so I'm guessing a Twig? And I am guessing.
Your give your location as Scotland, but unfortunately your IP address doesn't trace back there. In fairness, that's not 100% accurate, but currently your account does ring all the warning bells...
Personally, I'm happy to have you on the forum and hope you enjoy it. However, at the moment, the "twig" word is banned, and will be until I calm down. Which won't be for a while
As regards the PMs of support - I'm a minion of the Great Dictator and don't get not paid to worry about popularity. Come the revolution, I'll be the second against the wall

That photo looks familiar, If I'm not mistaken, that's a BRP controller, is that the one supplied by Yamaha with the engine?
