Cg66
How many people are registered with CG66 or even know what it is?
I am but wondered if everyone knew it existed as the yacht thread Codders posted mentioned it.

Chewy - from previous discussions here I am guessing most of our "regulars" will know what CG66 is and many will be registered.

JSP - consider him slapped - nice link
Polwart - it was a new one for me - is there a "safety" thread - just wondering if all the discussions re Radar, AIS, Lifejackets and the various registering options could all go somewhere easily found for the new ones amongst us - just a thought

I appreciate that but the fact Knot Yet didn't know about it and has now registered must be a good thing?

Good idea to bring this to the attention of many.
Did mine some time back and I think you will find anyone considering doing a crossing of the Channel or Irish Sea (IOM) will have done so too.

No idea why at all
There are lots of safety threads - I was more thinking along the lines of a forum section dedicated to safety rather than trawling through all sections or undertaking a search
Possibly me being lazy though

Sorry - didn't mean to dismiss it. I was going to write more earlier but had to get on with life... and cut it short. What I was going to say was a long the lines of: "I suspect that people on internet boating forums (and possibly those who buy magazines) are more aware of the perceived risks and the ways of mitigating those risks than those who do their boating in isolation".
I am surprised that CG66 wasn't mentioned on KY's PB2 course, I am sure it was mentioned on mine? I'm sure its also in "Nos's beginners' guide".

I've tried updating the picture (I've added front & rear lockers) on my CG66 a couple of times and it wasn't having any of it - has anyone else had issues ?

im on it
I registered when we bought the boat. Jono G gave me the forms when I did the VHF course. Cheers. Such a good idea.
Jono reckoned if they know what they are looking for they can calculate how far you may drift in relation to current winds and tides, dependant on your boat in particular. Plus they know what safety gear you have etc
It's a no brainer.

Bumble - I had problems adding a photo in the first place. I sent an email to the help address and whilst they weren't exactly speedy they did fix it (a week or so later).

Reszing the image on photobucket or cropping it works.
