CG66 - Anyone registered recently?

Has anyone managed to register a new boat on CG66 recently?

I've been trying for the last few months and never receive the initial registration email with my initial password - I've tried several email addresses.

I've also tried emailing several of the CG66 support email addresses and had no reply.

Thought I'd see if anyone else has had any luck before I give them a ring in Fareham

Thanks!

I can't answer your question but for what its worth it is very useful.

When in September my engine failed (as a result of crud jamming the thermostat) the MMSI / callsign I gave allowed the coastguard to pull up the details of my boat. This was noted by the coastguard guys who met the lifeboat on the tow back and, if I remember, was an item on their safety checklist.

Not my year to renew but maybe it's the same story as registration of PLB's. See other thread

If it makes you feel any better I can log in and have just updated my details successfully...

I did however have problems initially registering in Feb 2013 and ended up emailing someone to complete my registration.

Wot he said. I have just updated my details a few days ago without any issues and have received an automated confirmation.

However, I had exactly the same problem registering initially between 5th Feb and 22nd Feb this year. The major issue was uploading pics (all of the correct size btw) and it ended up with a very nice young lady at MCGA doing it for me.

It seems a bit 'hit-and-miss.

I sent them a list of problems including suggestions on how they might want to close all the security and usability holes in the decrepit VBScript and ASP engine they're using, all of which was ignored!

Thanks for all your replies, glad to know I'm not the only one who's had issues! The site is a bit antiquated!

Knowing that you guys could login using existing accounts I tried logging in using my old account that I cancelled when I sold my last boat. It logged straight in and all the old details were there. I've updated it for my new boat and emailed Solent/Fareham to check it's showing as active at their end.

Hopefully that's sorted it!

You would be amazed but it seems the form basically emails someone in MCA who manually transcribe it to their database. #bonkers

Sounds about right, my renewal went through to Humber, they emailed me some other questions and also corrected the problem of not being being able to upload a pic.
