CG66 update with sale of boat

Can anyone tell me how to Change / delete a CG66 form to show I've sold my boat and all the details of ownership etc...are no long valid.

The form will allow me to change / update details, but I can't see how to "unregister".

I understand that when I pick up the new one - Ribcraft 5.3 - in March (roll on!!) and register it I'll get a new reference and new record, but can't see how to "delist" the old one

If the new owner registers the same boat couldn't there be confusion?

LT

I think if you contact the Coastguard MRCC nearest to your usual cruising area, they will be able to sort it out for you. That's how it used to be done anyway.

Taken from my certificate:

If your boat is sold or transfered to persons other than those recorded on the Certificate of Registry, then the registration is terminated and the Certificate must be returned by the registered owner along with confirmation that the ownership has been transfered.

Hi agree with Tony, It says on the web page that if you dispose of your vessel you notify the local CG station. if you are a member you are automatically contacted every two years for alterations etc but you can contact them anytime to ensure your dtails are correct.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info chaps.

I'll drop Brixham Coastguards a note to let them know.
