I'm surprised that copinsay wishes him well after being ripped of. Your using a credit card to protect you does not make him a decent chap!

Yes, the boys upstairs would rather we didn't talk about how the RIBnet trade members have been ripping off the forum supporters, bad for the company image...

Really? I must have missed a memo. Has someone tried to nobble you? Who are these shady and unscrupulous Trade Member s? AFAIK this is the second thread on which you have been allowed to vent your full and unrestrained condemnation of "Channel Ribs". It strikes me as a little unsporting to suggest otherwise.

For sure, but be it age or life experience, nobody died and I guess what I saved in cash will compensate for problems this time, so happy to keep it in perspective.
I can think of a large prominent online store that's caused me more hassle.
Each to their own. I'm not saying it / he was right... I'm just not going to use any more energy on it... pay pal here I come!
All told, my experience as a newbie (as of 18 months ago) with people on here has been brilliant (all present included too), and that's what I'll remember most.
And the clocks change soon :o)
Steve

Can't I stick an s on the the end of something just for a little dramatic effect? Just paid my subs boss
I thought I was extremely restrained in the previous thread, in the futile hope that I might get my money back, are you confusing me with Dougie?
And this thread is just a warm up

Paul, I think it's clear to anyone that I don't mean all trade members but for the avoidance of doubt, no, I do not mean all trade members.
And to reiterate the point that Willk makes, I am only referring to one (no longer a) trade member.
I know there's been the odd grumble about others over the years but I personally have had only great advice and service from all the trade or non trade members during my time here. Apart from one of course

Well he hasn't been a trade member for a while if I remember correctly (certainly is no more). You didn't send him money because he was a ribnet trade member - you did it because you had met him and built a relationship with him over several transactions and trips - in fact if I remember rightly you jumped to his defence the last time he got in a problem.
Trade membership offers no guarantees that the person is legit, but it does mean they've got £100 to spare on "advertising" which scammers don't and those with terminal cash flow issues struggle with (although that £100 lasts a year and thats a long time in a small business). I don't recall the Admin team ever protecting a trade member from flack either before or after I was on the inside.
However if I was looking to see if someone was a credible trader I might look to see who was on 'his' friends list in the RIBnet membership database.

In fairness to Martini, Martin "friended" everyone on RIBnet. I got one too. It seemed a little petty to "unfriend" him when he was down. I was going to wait a few months and then do the dirty...

I think you've missed the thrust of Poly's point here A-H. The post that we were addressing was the one where Martini as much as said that RIBnet Admin are protecting Trade Members from adverse comment on the forum and giving them license to "rip off members".
My reply was a rebuttal of this - I've seen no evidence of any such thing. I put a LOT of work in here to help the forum run smoothly. Protecting the users and the forum itself is my foremost concern and I make every effort to be fair to all parties involved.
I'm a bit p1ssed off, TBH

Don't take it heart Willk. Where money is involved logic, reason and friendship often end up taking second place.
