Certainly not me! I think it was a fair point and I was suggesting that a de facto feedback system already exists. Most transactions seem to take place without any hassle - to some extent I'm stunned by how well it works, considering it is very much a gentleman's agreement type thing. I've shipped kit from Ireland to members all over the UK (an iPad in one case) who didn't know me from a hole in the wall. Fair play to them, I'm not sure I would be as brave/trusting myself.
I can think of several Trade Members that I wouldn't give the steam off my p1ss to - and only because of the bad reports on the forum - so the feedback is already there in most cases.
But maybe JK should bring back the Green Dots for Trade members?

you've not alienated anyone. The only way to alienate willk is tell him Redbays are crap - he's programmed to ignore all other insults. But you invited opinions - we are sharing ours.

I was probably looking for a simplistic answer to the present situation regards know 'trade' members that were as they say having difficulty. Poly I am not that stupid or naive as to think all members are 'white'
I'll just crawl back into my hole and vegetate. No I won't one last rant............... I still think you have to promote open discussion in an objective not subjective way as really don't think anyone is having a 'go'
|
The point is if someone has a genuine issue they want to share we will generally allow it to be posted EVEN if it is against a current trade member. Obviously as with anything do it calmly, politely and rationally and if you are going to make damaging claims about a business have the evidence to support it.

Ditto. I suspect the reason it works is quite how razor sharp (or in some cases willing to poke a hornets nest with a big stick) some of our members are.
It's fairly obvious if something's even vaguely suspicious and there's very few people here that think there's such a thing as a free lunch-paying for/maintaining a boat for any length of time brings that one home rather quickly.

Ditto. Pays yer money, takes yer choice. The search button when used correctly is most definitely your friend.

Good morning Willk, Poly and Nos. many thanks for replies and info it's appreciated. It was a ham-fisted attempt to ensure that we the forum could learn from the experience from all angles.
Regards
J

Poly, remind me, what were those "special circumstances" under which JK said that we could use the red lever on the far left of the panel?
