Charlie Brown reaches the Solent

Ever since i started sailing in the solent when 8 i have always wanted a rib! when i got a bit older i was moor picky with my wish list. However funding was always a problem!

Three years ago i bought my first starter rib. Zippy, the Black BWM that tought me so much and gave me huge fun.

As my means increased i bought Martins Coastline (remedy) which was a fantastic boat and really made me appreciate the abilities of ribs in bad weather.

All this time however, what i really wanted was a Scorpion! now i know some people will say there are better boats out there but in my view, the are the best compromise between performance and looks.

so here it is!!

We were planning to bring it back by water yesterday from Poole but in the end decided to bring it back by road.

Many thanks to Richard for transport and help yesterday. i owe you several pints and some grub!!

Yep, you sure have come a long way since the BWM. I like your latest choice too. Don't be worried about others opinions as the Scorpion is a very fine RIB but buying anything will always be a compromise. Hopfully you should have many years of trouble free enjoyment with her, I guess trips to the Channel Islands and France are on now?

First class mate

Hi Andy,

Channel Islands trips are planned for sure!

went out last night and the ride never fails to amaze me! 45 kts over the red jet wake and it hardly moved!

i was a little surprised i was pulling max revs of 5130 so think some prop changes are required!

You are most welcome mate, it was a pleasure.

Couple of extra shots

1 - Look mate you drop it and you're dead
2 - What a shiny hull
3 - Proper cheesy grins of excitement
4 - WOO HOO she's in the water
5 - Check out that grin, still beaming from ear to ear, one proud owner

Well done mate hope you have lots of fun, just as much as you did on Remedy.
