For those of you that live or RIB on the south coast, I have just come across the above site at http://194.217.234.16/report.htm

This is an automatic system sited on the Chichester Bar Beacon and is updated every 15mins or so. Could make for some interesting viewing over the next 24 to 36 hours if the forcasts are anything to go by

. It would be a braver man than me, gungadin, who would venture across the Bar in a 42knot southerly

What a damned useful idea. Are there any more of these around the UK?

Another, perhaps more useful, site is at http://www.onlineweather.com/v4/uk/sailing/index.html which gives 3-day forecasts for the UK and can be zoomed in to your selected area by clicking on the map

Keith, ideal perhaps for your "little crossing"
