I wouldn't mind a few accessories on my life jacket belt, such as VHF with external mic, EPIRB, safety knife and laser flare etc all small so I don't look too tooled up

Safety knife
Spyderco Atlantic Salt.
Light, single hand open/close, never rusts, cuts to the bone, non-slip grip, RIB safe. Over the season mine got to go play in the water on a tethered crewmate to cut mono off a prop. Absolutely made for the job. Pricey, so a perfect one for the list!

Will also put 'The Beast' on the list - would love that RIB, but reckon the Mrs will just chuckle and move on. Worth a shot though eh?

Sockets set
I was in Halfords at the weekend and bought one of these sockets sets. They have a lifetime guarantee/look good quality and they are currently on sale with 50% off. Happy shopping

I need to remove gelcoat in some hard to reach places and was considering putting a Dremel 3000 on my list, only because I have heard that it is the tool to use. I have never used one in my life. It looks like the flexible drive will allow me to get to the difficult places that I have to get to.
Sorry that I am hijacking the thread a little, but it is for my Christmas list, honest
Any views on this tool out in the big wide world please.....

Well as a collector of 'Sharps' its pretty Low end Believe me!..
Anyway if you take off the Price of a Crap Knife which may well let you down when you need it...ie. like in a Force Five off Lundy with a Lobster Line around yer prop ..Yes it is!
When you consider when and what you may very well need a Safety Knife to do, I reckon get the best you can.
The Pacific Salt (Serated) is Pretty good too and a Tenner Cheaper.
They also do a Fixed Blade version which is worth considering ...either way 1st thing to do is put it on Lanyard!
I'm a member of 'British Blades Forum' which gets me 10%+ off at Hiennies...and plenty of other outlets well worth it for Outdoor gear and Sharps.
