Cleaning...

Just thought a few might be interested, spent the day at the boat today in order to clean it ready for the season.

Did an absolute ton of stuff: washed, waxed, polished hull. restore, wash, seal tubes, washed, waxed, polished console, waxed and polished the 'roode and washed, waxed and polished all internal fittings and stainless.

Having bought a RIB "kit" at the boat show, I looked inside and it had a pack of applicator pads for various things and I used them to restore the tubes and wash the hull. They were a revelation. Even without the wax&wash product they were able to remove stubborn marks from the hull, which is now so spotless that you can see the moulding marks!

Just thought someone might be interested in them: http://www.marineaglaze.com/index.ph...roducts_id=152

Looks like they do them in a bundle of five too

Looks similar to Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. A very light (in weight) foam block?

Take a look at the active ingredients; I think the erasers have some sort of chlorine bleach (not that it will do immediate damage, but you want to make sure you rinse it off thoroughly.)

Everywhere the block was used (restoring the tubes and prelim clean of the hull, it was washed again afterwards. It says specifically on the pack that there are no chemicals used in it and it is just the melamine fibres which break the stain or whatever down. Hard to believe but they worked really well. And yep a light weight foam block.
