Coating Rib Tubes with rhinolining, vortex, or line-x

I've seen a few threads about this but not really about the pros and cons of doing a truck coating on existing hypalon tubes. The reason I was curious is I recently came across a used RIB that had "vortex" coating on it. The job looks professional, not done by the owner. The owner claimed that the tubes do not leak air and are now more puncture resistant.

On the positive side, it would seem more resistant to punctures. On the negative it would add weight and if you did puncture it, it would be harder to patch. Anything else I'm missing?
