Codder's Ride

Slap this on the back of the Pro 'Spurt' and she'd get some added 'umph' Codders.

That's a better price than most have been offering. Could be tempted if they offer a proper warrenty. One bloke I spoke to said they didn't offer any sort of guarantee as it's a race engine - Mercury in the USA offer 2 years though!!!
Other likely contender is the Evinrude 300 - I just love 2 strokes!!!

Remember I want first call on your 225!
Would be a useful upgrade from my 200.
Nasher.

Yeah, I was very, very nearly lured down the 4 strokes and a heart attack route, but eventually came to and ordered an Etec.
The end package should have a bit more poke.
Codders, give them a call and make them an insulting offer. It's a difficult time of year to be selling engines, it'll be 'last years model' in 3 weeks.

Ah, right. I stand corrected, like the man in the orthopedic shoes.

You kept that quiet , I thought you didn't like the colour The latest models are supposed to have an even more up to date fuel system , so OSM told me
If you are as impressed as me with it you will be a happy bunny

Yeah, it was a difficult choice. The DF is a great engine, the autumn deal that Suzuki were giving was also very tempting. However, the Etec nudged it in most depts. It'll be quicker with a much gruntier pull out, the Etec and the DF are pretty much on a par consumption wise, noise similar, Etec 30 odd kgs lighter. The Etec was £1800 dearer which was slightly off set by the 3 year service period. However, Liverpool Powerboats, from whom the DF was coming rang to say that Bombardier would discount them to the same money as the DF. Humper and I were having a pair of DF's from them, he changed to the Etec as he'd had one on his previous boat. I dillied about for a few days then did the same. Hopefully we've gone from jag performance to Porsche.

They put a V6 in it!!
I saw a 220 that had run into a Merc A Class in Truro a few years ago. I know the guy that owns the Jag Dealership down here, he reckoned it was £22K to put a new wing on the XJ plus a few bits as there are no replacement body panels for them. It had to be made from scratch. The guy driving it didn't even own it, he'd borrowed it from his brother.

Ouch!!!
Yes the 220 was designed for the v12 but they changed the rules and they stuck a V6 twin turbo in it. Still goes like stink and it is far more stable at speed than say a Mclaren.
If I had £100,000 to waste sod a Ferrari it's the XJ220 I would go for - they still look amazing!!!

Mr. Jag also said that when Jaguar announced that it would be having a V6 rather than a V12, many that had put a £50k deposit down on them backed out and waved good buy to their £50k rather than take delivery. Jag tried to sue but backed down.
