Compasses- flat card or conical card

I am planning to buy a compass for the RIB and have pretty much settled on the Plastimo 105 but I see that it comes with eiter a flat or conical card. Does anyone know the pros and cons of flat v conical card please?

The flat is mostly for sailors who look straight down on a binnacle.
The cone is for people like us who look at the compass partially from the side.

So go with the cone unless you want to stand straight over your compass.
