Confronting Poseidon
Confronting Poseidon, Clive Tully's first hand account of his adventure aboard the Spirit of Cardiff, is now available to order on-line.
I've just read most of it in a single sitting this evening, and I must say it is superb. Clive manages to really get across the feeling of what life on board was like, from the toilet arrangements (rather a lot of that actually!) to the battering from the weather to the desperate frustration of beaurocratic delays. Find out how the crew really got on with each other as they coped with seemingly endless crises.
If you read the on-line journal, you will have some idea of what's in the book, but you haven't heard half of it!
Available now in hardback from the Spirit of Cardiff web site at just £19.99. Buy a few copies and solve your Christmas present problems!
John

Mine will be ordered as a Christmas present I think
For Crazyhorse
I might be brave but not as brave as those guys!!!
These people the least they deserve is respect and admiration!!
I have sailed the oceans during my brief life-time on this earth on board cargo ships and tankers as a third mate and I can assure you that I feel THE GREATEST RESPECT for people who try to venture it in the Atlantic on any type of boat being a RIB, sailing yacht or what ever. To do something like what they did, amongst other things, needs courage (most importantly), a lot of planning, forward thinking and lots of stamina.
They are heroes to say the least
...but I'm open to suggestions. One never knows
