Confronting Poseidon DVD?

Hello

Please can anyone tell me if there was ever a DVD made of the Spirit of Cardiff's RTW attempt?

Cheers

Keith Hart (()) - for old time's sake.

Keith hi and welcome back, not sure about a DVD but the last time I visited Rogue Wave he had about 20 copies of the book for sale.

Hello all

I followed the 'Spirit of Cardiff' RTW attempt closely at the time and even took my SIB down to Cardiff to see them off. When they appealed for money after Carter 'jumped ship' I chipped in as well. However my own adventure across the Pentland Firth in my SIB and round Britain with Brian Elliott (Cyanide) and Mike and Di Garside (Magellan Alpha) took over my time. This was then followed with almost 2 years of work to sell up and move up to the Highlands, so I never got around to reading the book (Confronting Poseidon).

I actually brought the book last week (great book but could have had more brackets ) and have had my nose stuck inside it ever since. There was a lot of talk about filming in the book and it stirred my curiosity about the project once more. Certainly Alan Priddy was a role model for my own mini adventure.

The big truck (Land Rover 101) has shrunk to a Land Rover Discovery (much more comfortable - and reliable - but not so much street cred) and yes I get togs going out with me. I also do a lot of work at The Carnegie Club (Skibo Castle) as their recommended photographer. Mixing with the rich and famous (like a RibNet gathering)!

Come the spring I'll have the SIB over on the West Coast for a few adventures...

Keith (pops in now and again) Hart

Keith I think there is mention of the spirit of cardiff RTW trip on an extreeme ribbing DVD that rib international were trying to peddle on their website. Wasn't exclusively about that though. You could PM Alan Priddy and see if he can shed any light.

There were a couple of documentaries made, which I think went out on satellite channels - Discovery possibly? There was also a piece that went out on a Trans Word Sport.

Nothing has been released on DVD as far as I know, but it's possible that something may be arranged. I'll see what I can find out.

If anyone's interested then please send me a PM.

Not because I broke into it I hope.

Anyway I emailed Alan Priddy and this morning a DVD with footage of the RTW trip AND the Atlantic challenge arrived by the post! What a gentleman.

Also some very exciting news about a new project...

There is a 20 minute documentary out, as I found it googling it. I think it might be on the bottom of Allan Priddy's website, but I don't remember the name, something like global race around the world.

Wow Keith! If you ever read this due to it being an old thread resurrected, you may remember me, I frequent Skibo Castle (The Carnegie Club), one day when I was at the castle I had just finished shooting and and you took me round the 4x4 course, we discussed Land Rovers & RIBS, I had a heavily modified powerful Defender, you were telling me about your SIB, your photography and this forum, what a coincidence that I have just joined, read an old thread that was posted in a couple of days ago and there you are. Hope all is well, if you are still up there we may cross paths again!

Cheers,
