console position
i have not bought a console yet but this came up on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GRP-CONSOLE-RI...item3a56742a19
i did a few measurements and had a search or two and this thread came up http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?...ht=shakespeare
the console on ebay is the one in jonos pics of the yellow tubed boat, i would like my console to sit further forward than that, but that console in jonos pics is about as far forward as it will go, does the position of the console affect the balance and weight distribution of the fully rigged boat as much as i think it does?

That console is quite narrow at the front, so should go quite forward in the boat.
What RIB is it for?

Given that Jono Garton fitted it in a 620, it would be worth dropping him a pm.

i think the deck in the one jono fitted it to may have been flatter, the later hulls with the moulded deck and anchor box have a raised moulding running up either side of the inside of the deck
you might see them in pic 2 on this thread http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=33555

Good I think (but don't have much to compare it to), but mines the 7.2, so not really comparable for Mark

Dowdy on boatmad has bought the moulds for the Shakespeare Sportfish 650, which appears to use the same console. If he's also bought the mould for the console, then maybe he'll knock one up for you.

I saw Jan from Nautequipe at the boat show yesterday. Yes Nautequipe is trading as normal and from the same place, the yard is for sale so there may be a move on the way but there was no question of Nautequipe not continuing. Steve has been unwell but is on the mend now, so hopfully back with us to defend his corner soon.

Thanks for clearing that up, Ian.
Glad to hear they're still trading.
