Console vent
For consoles with fuel tanks inside but with a deck vent fitted, is there a need to have an extra, larger vent for the console? And if so would a small fan off such as a computer case be of any use to keep air circulating inside?

I thought about using a solar powered boat vent. They claim to be fully waterproof.

If your thinking of that git fuel tank can't you just pipe the vent so it vents outside the console.
I'd be very caustious of fitting fans where petrol fumes are concerned unless it was Ex rated.
If you don't vent it outside a simple vent on either side should let enough air though.

Git fuel tank?
I'm going to fit a deck vent connected to the tanks vent mate but wondered if it's best to add another vent on the console as well so the whole area that the fuel tank site in is well vented ?

Yes, it is, 'cos when your tank breaks and fills your console with petrol, the vent will let you know about it by leaving the fooms out.

Wish you'd said "If" not "When"
Any recommendations for a good vent?

I have a external fuel tank vent as well as a 4" vent in the console. Inside never smells of fuel (unless i overfill it). also none of the clocks or electronics fog up....

Sounds just want I want. I've seen similar to yours on eberspacher heating systems. Does it let much water in mate?

Couldn't resist it, JSP. I remember smiling when our friend Mr Fuller used that very expression last year:

I remember that, saying it back is a great way to teach them..make them think
I like cod idea about the solar side of it, along with Endevour's roca vent, I think it's worth doing even only for the other benifits; no misting etc, aside from the fooms bit.
