consoles

I am putting a new 7.5 Vipermax together but can`t decide on the console Osprey have a new console in the pipeline but it could be a while before it`s ready so I`m looking into alternatives.I want something a bit higher than the norm as we tend to stand more than sit.Outhill have got something almost right but are well overpriced. Has anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks

What height do you need? We have one that comes in two heights.

Hi

This is the Neptune Consul that we use on the Parkers, would something along these lines interest you? if so I can work you out a price and give you the footprint of the consul so you can check it out for size. Obviously the helm could be on either side.

Try Tim or Jason Here: Great blokes to deal with and a couple of taller design consoles to choose from. They are very reasonably priced with an after sales service second to none! One other bonus being that they are local to gods Isle... in the NW.

Our console pictured above is 840 wide and 1000 long and can come in 1200 high including the wind deflector - with that design you can wear a baseball hat at over 60 mph and not have it fly off! Let us know what sort of seat and locker arrangement you need and I'll see if we have something that will suit you!

Have you seen the Windsor Bros console that Andy Hightower has used on his new build?

I suppose the important thing about a stand up consul is the height the wheel is at. You want the wheel to arrive at a natural height for your hands.

In France everybody uses stand up consuls but I don't think that it's that good. You could look at Zodiac who do them with a built in 'suicide' seat.

How about this.

1000mm long X 1200 wide X 1100mm high. Comes with a reveal for your legs or without if you want. No forward seat though, just a gaping big hole to access all your wiring, batteries and gear.

I also had dividers glassed in the bottom to seperate batteries from oil tank from fuel tank. I'll be putting a false floor in and using the storage space above this for my normal everyday boating gear.

They also have a larger console and one with a door in the back for a cabin Rib if you like.

This is the first Osprey with the Winsor console, I know of one other definate 6.5m and 1 other possible Osprey that have been ordered with this type of console.

Good on price too.

The Bananashark console looks too narrow for a 7.5m Vipermax - it would be lost in there.

It is slimmer than some at only 840 mm wide, it was designed for our 6m RIB and allows some room to pass by without going over the tubes. This is always a compromise with getting the maximum width to stand behind and still leave room to get to the bow - very much a personal choice!

If you mean us then we don't I'm sorry, but we do have a selection of moulds, it would be a bit slim if you want something built in, although we could put a plant in the mould to give a recess for a seat if that's what you're looking for?

If you really want a seat in the front of a console then the Parker is a really nice piece of design and very comfy too. Winsor bros might also do a bespoke seat for you as well.

console

Thanks for all the suggestions, the parker console is closest to what I want but at 1100mm wide its not going to allow enough space to pass at the side.
The console I want has to have a forward seat for two albeit slim teenagers.

How about this one, it has a seat in the front but is really only suitable for i person, i beleive the width is 980mm, if it's of interest i can put you in touch with the builder.

I think you'll struggle to get a suicide seat for two slim teenagers even in 1000mm?

Personally, I think that the Osprey Discovery consol is by far and away the best looking. I realise that it does have it's limitations in terms of protection. I'd rather put a decent pair of wrap-around sunglasses on and a jacket than have a 'dog house' of a consol.
So, what colours are you going for this time? My samples arrived this am.
