If its Merc based (Belgium built) you may need to change the steering/tilt tube that runs through the motor, so the steering can thread onto it. We've just done this for a customer and luckily he had this on his previous engine. We also swapped out the electrics for remote starting, which you'll need if you wish to rig that up too

Pic below shows what I mean (no thread to screw onto). This is a 10hp but same as 15hp

When I got my 25 off Peter it had been on remotes and went back to tiller ... there was a change to the cable entry for which Merc did a kit - allowing entry to the engine and alignment of the gear/ throttle cables. Not hard at all with the right bits - a couple of bolts and fidling to set up .

I still have the remote bits that came off if they could be of use ? (if the 25 and smaller use the same 'bits' ?

You'll need:
Control box + shift cables (ebay, around £100 for the box, £30/40 for the cables)
Steering system (Pacer marine (on ebay). Less than £100 for the whole system.
Console (ebay - anywhere from £150)
Kit from Mercury/Mariner dealer to convert the engine.
Some self tapping screws, washers and sikfaflex to secure the console to the deck.

All pretty easy, easily completed in a weekend for a competent DIYer. For the console, try emailing Ribeye before ordering elsewhere as they often have old stock they sell cheap.

nah, all you need at the wheel is a deadman.

leccy start is a "luxury" & more weight in the 15hp arena...
